“Hanna and Becca”

Statuario Marble - 40x110x45cm

Hannah and Becca is a dual study of sisterhood, capturing the tender dynamics of a shared childhood. The sculpture depicts the two sisters seated together, dressed in their favorite dresses and clutching their most cherished stuffed animals—small, tactile anchors to their world of play and comfort.

The composition centers on the relationship between the two figures, specifically the younger sister’s upward gaze toward her older sibling, a look of quiet admiration and trust. True to the signature theme of my work, the girls emerge from a base of raw, unhewn stone, suggesting that their bond is as ancient and foundational as the material itself.

By preserving these specific, ephemeral details—the favorite dress, the beloved toy—within the permanence of the rough-cut block, the piece explores how childhood memories are carved into the bedrock of our identities.
