Book is a study of weight and movement, capturing the fluid motion of a heavy volume caught in a sudden breeze. The sculpture features a large, substantial book with its pages beginning to fan open on one side, frozen in a moment of transition.

Originally conceived as a gift for a new restaurant, the piece was designed to serve as a tactile, artistic medium for writing daily specials in wax pencil. This functional history is reflected in the sculpture’s scale and the deliberate spacing of its opening pages.
