My Current Home

White Marble Carrara - 119x35x24cm
My Current Home is a centerpiece of the Homeless exhibition. It is a study of the architecture of survival—showing an empty sleeping bag resting on thin layers of cardboard, the universal insulation against the cold of the pavement.
A used paper cup is placed at the head of the bag, a silent vessel positioned to catch the change of passersby. By carving these temporary, "disposable" materials—cardboard, paper, and fabric—into permanent stone, the sculpture makes a lasting record of a way of life that society often tries to overlook.
The absence of a person inside the bag emphasizes the invisibility of those living on the streets. The "home" shown here is not a place of safety, but a fragile boundary between a human life and the hard, indifferent ground.
