“Affection”
Affection marks a significant shift in my work to a new form of abstract sculpture. It moves away from literal figurative studies to use malleable, elongated blocks as a visual language for the human spirit.
The composition represents a father and his two adult daughters. Standing at the center, the father’s form is upright and steadfast, while the two daughters are depicted as graceful, reaching shapes that bend inward to touch him. This physical lean creates a sense of gravity and support, illustrating the invisible pull of family and the softness that remains in their relationship even as the daughters have grown into adulthood.
By stripping away the facial details of my earlier work, Affection focuses entirely on the posture of love. It captures the silent, enduring lean of a family that remains connected through the years, transforming cold stone into a warm gesture of protection and belonging.
