Lahaina Phoenix is a monumental 3-meter sculpture created as a symbol of hope and rebirth following the catastrophic 2023 wildfires that devastated the historic town of Lahaina. Commissioned by a woman who lost her home in the fire, the work serves as both a personal landmark and a tribute to those who saw their lives and history leveled by the flames.

The sculpture depicts a Nēnē—the Hawaii state bird—transformed into a phoenix rising from a base of sculpted flames and ash. By merging this local icon with the ancient myth of the phoenix, the piece honors the resilience of the woman who commissioned it, showing her as someone who emerged from the destruction stronger than before.
