Male dancer - Table

Bronze, marble and glass - 105x105x35cm

Male Dancer Table is a fusion of fine art and functional design, born from my long-standing practice of gesture studies in the studio. One of my favorite creative activities is capturing the quick, expressive movements of a live model, and this specific male figure emerged as a favorite among the many studies completed over the years.

To bring this study into a functional space, I cast four bronze copies of the figure, positioning them as sculptural supports. The four dancers rest upon a base of Portoro marble—a rare and prestigious Italian stone from the Gulf of La Spezia, known for its intense "sepia black" color and striking gold veins. The figures hold a glass tabletop, allowing the viewer to look down through the surface and appreciate the dynamic poses and muscular detail of the bronze from above.

By lifting the dancer from a simple studio sketch to a structural element, the work explores the strength and grace of the human form. It transforms the fleeting energy of a live modeling session into a permanent, luxurious centerpiece that balances the weight of history with the fluidity of motion.
